At this time Jubitz Corporation is not requiring guests to wear masks outside or inside our facilities.

In accordance with the Multnomah County and Oregon State mask mandate guidelines, we do not require our employees to wear masks while on campus as well.

We welcome anyone who chooses to wear a mask to protect themselves if they choose to do so.

Thank you for your understanding.

We are excited to welcome you back with our World Class Customer Service and bright smiles!

Event Recap: Driver Appreciation Day 2020

Jubitz’s annual Driver Appreciation Day took place this past Wednesday outside of the Cascade Grill. Truckers that came to the event with their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) received a free lunch, swag bags and the same WCCE hospitality that has earned Jubitz their title as “World’s Classiest Truck Stop.”

Despite the challenges that COVID-19 (and a bit of rain) brought to the table, we put together what we hope was a memorable and sincere gesture for truck drivers. Large tents were propped up outdoors to allow for adequate social distancing.

Jubitz appreciates truck drivers 365 days a year

As a travel center that has grown exponentially over the years, our workforce and customers have also grown to be incredibly diverse. We got a chance to hear individual driver’s experiences on the road, and in return shared to them why they’re so important to our economy. Here are just some of the reasons that our employees appreciate truck drivers…

“I’ve worked with drivers over the last decade, and I’m reminded constantly of their humor, hard-work ethic, friendliness, mobile tech-savviness, and stories. They are truly the eyes and the heart of the open road.”

– William, IT Services Manager

“They are the underappreciated, under-recognized backbone of society and human culture to this day – not just in America, but globally. We rely on drivers with taking on the arduous task of ensuring companies keep moving and people continue to go about their daily lives unhindered. Since I was a little kid I always (and still do) look up to them as the backstage heroes; keeping the lights on. This is why I truly appreciate drivers.”

– CJ, Dispatch Manager

“Truck drivers bring us everything, everything that we eat, everything that keeps us entertained, everything has been on a truck at some point. Without truck drivers we wouldn’t have anything. Drivers are essential.”

– Gina, Driver Services Shift Leader

The Oregonian names Jubitz a Winner of the Oregon Top Workplaces Award for Third Straight Year

Jubitz received the Top Workplaces award from The Oregonian for the third straight year. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey. The anonymous survey is administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The data collection uniquely measures 15 drivers of engaged cultures that are critical to the success of any organization. Attributes include alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

“In times of great change, it is more important than ever to maintain a connection among employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “When you give your employees a voice, you come together to navigate challenges. You shape your path forward based on real-time insights into what works best for your organization. The Top Workplaces program can be that positive outcome your company can rally around in the coming months to celebrate leadership and the importance of maintaining an employee-focused culture, even during challenging times.”

So what makes Jubitz a Top Workplace?

According to Chief Operating Officer Mark Gram, “The Jubitz family and Jubitz management team feel strongly about valuing and validating its employees. We make efforts to communicate often and to keep our employees safe and well. It is best exemplified in one employee’s words: ‘Thank you for taking measures to keep us safe, employed, strong and united.’ This is especially true during these last 7 months.”

Jubitz prioritized employee safety and wellbeing from the beginning of the pandemic. We’ve taken measures like installing plexiglass shields, providing masks for customers and employees and being flexible with employees who have faced obstacles like lack of childcare.

Jubitz strives to offer a true team environment where everyone’s contributions are recognized, from cashier to CEO. Employees receive cash incentives, training and career development opportunities and awards for going above and beyond. In turn, their dedicated employees offer a World Class Customer Experience (WCCE) to every customer who walks in the door. Jubitz provides full-time employees with access to medical, dental and vision insurance. The benefits only get better with free disability insurance, free group term life insurance and a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This is all in addition to paid time off (PTO), a 401k retirement plan and employee meal discounts.

Jubitz is Leading the Way with Biodiesel Blends

Are you looking to reduce your company’s carbon footprint? A great first step is to research the fuel you’re using. At Jubitz, we continue to raise the bar with our biodiesel blends. Oregon law requires that all diesel sold must be at least 5 percent biodiesel (referred to as B5). Jubitz’s commitment to the environment means that most of the diesel we sell in Oregon is at least 10 percent biodiesel (B10)! We can even mix custom biodiesel blends up to B99 on demand.

Pictured, Liz Valseca, Customer Service Manager for Jubitz Fleet Services, stands in front of our biodiesel blending rack. This is where our customers can get biodiesel blends on demand.

How do biodiesel blends help the environment?

How do biodiesel blends benefit your diesel engines?

Whether you’re purchasing custom-mixed fuel, fueling up your truck at our fuel lanes or Oregon cardlock stations, getting diesel delivered by our mobile department or filling up with diesel at our Marketplace Gas Station, you can rest assured that you’re getting great performance for less environmental impact.

Every year since 2012, the Oregonian Media Group and Energage recognizes Top Workplaces in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Their analysis is based on the results of employee surveys. Jubitz is proud to announce that, thanks to our employees, we made this year’s list.

Battle of the Bands XI at Ponderosa Lounge & Grill

Battle of the Bands XI Round 1 was on Tuesday at the Ponderosa. It was a blast! We hosted three fantastic bands, three esteemed judges and everyone had a whole lotta fun.

The judges panel

The judges’ panel will change each week, but this week’s judges were Brady Goss, Autumn Everland and Donovan Raschdorf.

Robert Henry Band

First up

Robert Henry Band. This traditional country band, led by the 25-year old Robert Henry, blew the audience and the judges away! The judges were particularly impressed that their cover of “Folsom Prison” was spot-on because taking on Johnny Cash can be quite the challenge. Brady Goss even called them the best country band he’s seen in the Northwest.

Magnolia Waters

Next Up

Magnolia Waters performed high-energy country and Southern rock. Their cover of “Sweet Child of Mine” was impressive—it’s no surprise that they refer to their lead guitarist Christian Pond as “Baby Slash.” The judges were impressed too, particularly with lead singer Brandy Anderson’s vocals and how tight the group was overall.

Matt Hopper and the Roman Candles

Final Band

The last band of the night was Matt Hopper and the Roman Candles. This American rock n roll band has been around since 1999. While they were a little less country, the judges still loved them and the audience still loved line dancing to their music!

In the end, the audience voted for Robert Henry Band, so they will be going on to the semi-finals! If you loved Magnolia Waters or Matt Hopper and the Roman Candles, never fear. You have a chance to vote for them to perform during the “Save Round” on May 29. The winner will get $1000 and an opening slot for a national act at the Ponderosa.

Battle of the Bands XI is an eight-week event, so come to the Ponderosa every Tuesday until the finale on June 19. Shows start at 8 PM, and there’s no cover. RSVP to the Facebook event to get updates on which bands are playing each night and who is moving on in the competition!

Next week’s line-up

8 PM Nate Botsford

9 PM Rob Larkin and The Wayward Ones

10 PM Hawkeye Pierce

The judges

Katie Lou Ellen of Rekless Kompany, last year’s winners

Jon Davidson

Blake Nelson

We will see you there!

Looking Back on the Ponderosa Grand Opening

After a seven-month renovation, the Ponderosa Lounge and & Grill celebrated its grand re-opening. From December 14-16, people celebrated Pondo-style with a country music celebration! Whether you missed it, or you were there, relive the good times with our photo highlights from those memorable nights.
