Jubitz received 2021 Top Workplaces recognition from The Oregonian for its fourth straight year. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey. The anonymous survey is administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The data uniquely measures 15 drivers of engaged cultures that are the key to the success of any organization. Attributes include pay and benefits to company values, productivity and leadership.
Jubitz is consistently ranked as one of the best truck stops in America and was once named the “World’s Classiest Truck Stop” by the Fox Travel Channel. Providing World Class Customer Experiences (WCCE) in all of our business dealings is not just what we do, it’s who we are. Through our WCCE Comment Card Program, our WCCE Cash Incentives, and our WCCE Champions Program, our WCCE culture has become a thriving employee-driven effort to take care of our customers and make this THE place to do business—over and over again.
“They treat you like an equal”
Mark Jones, a Gas Station Attendant, began his career with Jubitz in December of 2020. He said, “I’ve had many jobs before, and this is the first one where I love the people and where they treat you like an equal. It’s a special place.” Not only does Jubitz take care of you as an employee, but they look for personal opportunities as well. Mark shared he had issues with his car and, “Jubitz helped me cover the cost of my deductible. It really is a place where, ‘if you take care of the business, they’ll take care of you.’”
Mark, who shared he’s 58, says he hopes to retire with the company. He appreciates that “There’s room for growth in every department. Jubitz wants you to work here and stay here. You can’t beat it.”
“Jubitz wants you to grow as a person”
Michelle Clark, a Customer Service Account Specialist, began her career at Jubitz in March of 2011. She started out as a Server in the Cascade Grill, went on to be a Lead, and eventually became the Assistant Manager. She shared, “It’s not always an option to have good benefits and opportunities for advancement in the food and beverage industry, but it is at Jubitz.”
When the pandemic curtailed her work in the hospitality arena, Jubitz helped her explore new job opportunities within the company. She recently moved into the Fleet Services department and joined the Customer Service team. “I would never have been able to do this at a different company. It’s a huge opportunity and I’ll forever be thankful for. Jubitz wants you to grow as a person and it’s apparent that they’re rooting for you. Everybody can give you an instance where Jubitz has gone above and beyond to show they care about you and that they’re here to help. People are engaged with each other and happy to be here and working together.”
Jubitz strives to offer a true team environment where everyone’s contributions are recognized, from cashier to CEO. Employees receive cash incentives, training and career development opportunities and awards for going above and beyond. In turn, their dedicated employees offer a World Class Customer Experience (WCCE) to every customer who walks in the door. Jubitz provides full-time employees with access to medical, dental and vision insurance. The benefits only get better with free disability insurance, free group term life insurance and a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This is all in addition to paid time off (PTO), a 401k retirement plan and employee meal discounts.
